We are a busy exotic animal, veterinary practice seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and very experienced assistant) to join our team. We are looking for full time, long term technician/assistant for immediate hire. If you are high energy, upbeat and love exotic animals you may be the match for us.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Exotic animal experience a big plus but we can teach individuals with a strong dog/cat background if needed

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Technician appointments - blood draws, suture removals, vaccines, etc.
- Drug calculations are a big part of the job so our candidates should be well versed in pharmaceutical math
- Proper patient handling/restraint
- Injections, fluids, oral medications, syringe feeding, and other patient treatments
- Sterile technique for surgical prep, IV placement, ability to gown up and assist in surgery when needed
- Excellent attention to detail with patient care, drug calculation and when making chart notations
- Radiology
- Lab work - Urinalysis, fecal exams, cytologies, ecto-parasite identification, etc.
- Client communication skills are very important as our technicians do a lot of medication instruction and client education
** CVTs and assistants rotate treatment weekends so some brief Sunday hours will occasionally be required **
Species we see include rabbits, ferrets, reptiles, guinea pigs, rats, sugar gliders, chinchillas and much more. We no longer see dogs and cats. We do not see birds or fish.
