Summary

Reporting to the Director of Shelter Operations, the Animal Care Technician will be responsible for:

• Daily cleaning, feeding, and monitoring of animals in accordance with shelter protocols and procedures.
• Assist with animal restraint for medical procedures.
• Animal enrichment activities.
• Assist with lab sample collection, surgical /medical and coordination of weekly transport and documentation and data entry of animal information.
• Maintains an open and inclusive work environment.
• Works in accordance with safety protocols and support volunteer engagement.
• Punctual and flexible, available to work during our operational hours that include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in a professional positive manner with all staff, volunteers, and customers.
• High attention to detail and the ability to be adaptable.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to work with a team and independently.
• Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of humane euthanasia.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Possess a high level of resiliency.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is:

• Thursday - Sunday: evening & weekend availabilty REQUIRED.

Pay & Benefits

• Starting wage, $15.00 per hour

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 24 per week
