    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Annual Campaign Manager will work closely with the Director of Mission Advancement of the YMCA Southcoast.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Creates an annual campaign strategy for the Y in collaboration with executive and volunteer leadership.

    2. Collaborates with branch leadership to develop communication and campaign strategies to successfully market the annual campaign through events, mailings and grants. Supports plans for identifying, cultivating and soliciting branch annual fund prospects.

    3. Writes clearly and concisely, using correct grammar, vocabulary, and appropriate tone for message or audience and speaks in a clear, articulate manner.

    4. Oversees the data management of annual gifts and conducts regular analysis and reporting of annual campaign progress.

    5. Establishes systems for timely and appropriate acknowledgements of annual campaign gifts.

    6. Oversees prospect/donor correspondence.

    7. Translates organizational goals into executable plans with accountable staff and volunteers by defining tasks, milestones, and priorities for programs or projects.

    8. Staffs and manages special events, projects and committees for Association events.

    9. Creates and updates materials to support gift cultivation, solicitations and stewardship.

    10. Develops and implements all aspects of direct donor mailings (print & email) and other donor mailings as needed.

    11. Ensures that the donor database information is current and accurate.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with experience in annual giving campaigns and/or special events.


    • Experience working closely with volunteers and in staffing volunteer committees/events.


    • Excellent writing, organizational and communication skills.


    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, volunteers, senior leaders, and the general public.


    • Understanding of and enthusiasm for the mission of the YMCA.


    • Experience in researching, planning, organizing, and managing events.


    • Working knowledge of planned-giving and prospect tracking.


    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure of tight deadlines and priorities.


    • Proven excellent writ ten and oral communication skills.


    • Experience in developing and managing long range planning process.


    • Understanding of Southcoast region, other regions, and national markets.


    • Strong computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.
