Annuities Retention Specialist coordinates with service representatives and clients to assist with retaining the client's annuity business. Makes recommendations to product line management to improve service and design of products that encourage client retention. Additionally, Annuities Retention Specialist requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Annuities Retention Specialist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     SUMMARY:

    Responsible for the recruiting and retention functions of Human Resources. Responsible for researching, planning, and executing effective strategies and programs that will lead to enhanced retention. Responsible for the implementation of the district’s recruitment plan within each school location and department.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Partners with school administrators and location supervisors to develop and implement employee retention strategies.
    • Analyzes turnover, exit and stay interview, and related data and provides each school administrator and location supervisor with individualized reports.
    • Coordinates with each school administrator and location supervisor to develop and implement location/department specific retention plans.
    • Coordinates retention related professional development and engagement activities in partnership with Human Resource and organizational leadership.
    • Oversees the exit interview process and meets with departing staff to solicit feedback.
    • Partners with Recruitment and Staffing Coordinator to develop a full-cycle recruitment strategy that aligns with organizational culture and needs.
    • Communicates recruitment plan rationale, goals, and design to school administrators, location supervisors, and district administration.
    • Communicates with principals and/or administrators to facilitate the hiring process for new employees and maintain a current and accurate listing of all vacant certified and administrative positions.
    • Assists with the coordination of all district recruitment and interview day events.
    • Assists with maintaining HR's presence on social media to post vacancies.
    • Supports the HRIS Specialist in compiling and communicating quarterly results summaries.
    • Works in conjunction with the Recruitment and Staffing Coordination, HRIS Specialist, and Classified Staffing Specialist to manage recruitment and hiring processes to include processing online applicant files, qualifying applicants for hire, analyzing transcripts, preparing announcements of vacancies for the purpose of meeting district staffing requirements, while complying with established guidelines per HR authorization and direction.
    • Assists with management of the district’s on-line district application system in collaboration with the Recruitment and Staffing Coordinator, Classified Staffing Specialist, and HRIS Specialist. Co-facilitates the training of staff on current HRIS systems.
    • Assists with updating job descriptions to ensure accuracy when posting vacant positions.
    • Assists in the budget planning for recruitment and retention.
    • Ensures compliance with district, local, state, and federal employment policies, procedures, and guidelines.
    • Performs other duties as may be assigned.


    JOB SPECIFICATIONS


    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    Master’s degree required; experience and/or familiarity with planning and facilitating retention strategies; experience and/or familiarity with recruitment processes; five years of experience as a school district educator or administrator (preferred); experience with program planning and implementation; human resources experience (school district preferred); knowledge of school district employee system management.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Valid South Carolina Teaching License (in any area, preferred not required), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Oversees the work of staff and departmental functions associated with all areas of recruitment and retention.


    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and instructional manuals. Ability to design and write professional development plans, reports and data entry procedures. Ability to effectively present professional development and training and respond to questions from groups of educators, trainees, media, administrators and organization members.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and in the display and interpretation of data. Ability to apply basic concepts of statistical analysis, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems. Ability to quickly assess employee, departmental, and administrative needs and provide timely feedback.


    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

    Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to operate a personal computer and related software. Ability to work alone. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff and district employees. Ability to implement a flexible work schedule to meet the reporting deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required. Ability to perform duties with a high level of detail and accuracy. Ability to self-monitor and manage multiple tasks while working individually and with members of a group.
