Primary Purpose of Position | The primary purpose of the position is to support the mission of North Carolina Central University through the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-level applications, interfaces, automation, and integrations. This position will serve as an active member of a highly collaborative team and work closely with other members of the Enterprise Applications and Development Services department, the Information Technology Services division, campus constituents, and vendors. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | Minimum of five years of experience in applications programming utilizing complex database queries. Working knowledge of SQL, Oracle PL/SQL required. Working knowledge of Unix and Java is preferred but not required. Working knowledge of Higher Education is preferred but not required. Experience with enterprise-level applications that include, but not limited to: Ellucian Banner 8 and 9, Argos, NextGen, AppWorx, N2N Illumnate, Windows, Git/GitHub, and Subversion. Must possess the ability to learn new technologies and participate as a contributing team member in the implementation of new and/or enhancement of existing technological solutions that support the business, strategic goals, and mission of the university. Must have excellent research, analysis, and critical thinking skills; must be well versed in complex database queries, system administration, system development, process efficiencies, problem analysis, and problem resolution. Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, and agile methodologies. Must possess and demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent listening and interpersonal skills. Must be able to collaborate with various university constituents in both technical and non-technical terms to achieve optimal implementation results; research, analyze, and implement solutions to resolve issues.
