Additionally, Applications Engineer troubleshoots problems and oversees the completion of repairs, workarounds, or customizations. Delivers technical product training to customers and internal audiences. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Applications Engineer work is closely managed. Job Summary: As an Applications Engineer in Nederman, you would use your engineering experience and knowledge of our products to support specialty equipment sales. Responsibilities include applications engineering, design, estimating, proposals, final equipment selection for projects, and startup/troubleshooting at the site. Main Tasks and Responsibilities Accountable for providing an initial, high-level review of all technical documentation for a project, including specifications, plans, drawings, etc. Read and interpret the customer’s scope of work (SOW) to assist with procuring a quote by understanding specifications, such as features, accessories, and buy-out-items (BOI). Learn the systems integration of the CLEAN AIR solution (baghouse, material handling, air handling, etc...). Send out Requests for Quotes to vendors and fabricators in order to receive pricing for equipment cost estimation. Review vendor proposals based on technical content and cost. Assemble cost estimates for each proposal corresponding to the Scope of Supply. Estimate costs of fabrication and BOI’s for budget proposals. Write Scopes of Supply, which communicate to the customer what is being provided by MikroPul as part of a project. Review and mark up GA Drawings to ensure consistency between engineering design and project scope. Provide technical and operational support during project execution cross-divisions. Inspect conditions and help troubleshoot and/or advise on repairing or upgrading existing equipment at customer sites. May participate in on-site job walks at customer sites within, but not limited to US and Canada. Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organizational needs. QualificationsYour Experience & Education Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar degree. 2 plus years of relevant experience, preferably in application engineering in Manufacturing, Chemical, and Industrial settings highly preferred. Your Skills & Traits: Strong math and engineering to interpret drawings, specifications, sales, etc... Skillful interpersonal relationship building with strong verbal and written communication. Ability to work with management on multiple projects at once and take a leadership role in group meetings and projects. Ability to support all other departments within the company and coordinate cross-functional projects and information-sharing sessions. Must be proficient in MS Access, Excel, Project, and AutoCAD. Knowledge of ERP and CRM systems such as IFS, JD Edwards are MS Dynamic 365 highly desirable. An in-depth understanding of the air pollution control industry is highly desirable.
