Applications Engineering Manager jobs in Texas

• Lead a team of Field Applications Engineers (FAEs) that support both mass market (Distribution) and key direct (OEM) customers
• Work with Americas sales team to help coordinate technical coverage for geographic regions and OEM accounts
• Promote FAE team effectiveness by procuring product training, providing tools, Eval Kits, helping set priorities and encouraging FAE team sharing of technical knowledge
• Collaborate with Sales to drive business and technical strategies to build and sustain account plans with a focus on attaining Design Win Goals and meet Revenue targets
• Work with and drive internal marketing and development teams to determine feasibility of specific new products or features to ensure customer specifications are met
• Drive customer support excellence through business review scorecard results, metrics, issue response time, etc.
• Navigate technical challenges which serve as obstacles to FAEs and sales goals
• Support Distribution training efforts at the corporate and/or branch level
• Support Marcom led trade shows, regional tech days and other events
• Develop technical competence on ams OSRAM products including optical sensors, image sensors, time-of-flight, temperature sensing, position sensors, LEDs and lasers

• Leadership experience, leading a direct and/or indirect team, and direct customer support experience
• Bachelor's degree (or above) from a four-year University- BSEE, or local equivalent
• At least 5 years' experience with electronics and/or systems level design in mixed-signal circuits
• (consumer and industrial applications)
• FAEs and the FAE manager positions are customer facing and require a knowledge of hardware, IC's, LEDs, software and systems
• Experience of working in an international semiconductor company
• Excellent communication skills in oral and written English
• Self-motivated, take initiative, and to work independently or in a team environment.
• Willing to work with international teams and willingness to travel (~ 25%)
• Ability to organize and prioritize work
• Prefer exceptional people skills and the ability to work directly with customers
• Ability to collaborate with engineers across multiple fields, as well as customers of various positions including executive level interaction
• Able to demonstrate problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent PC usage skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to travel for up to 25% of time
