Job Description –Gallery Attendant/Custodial Staff

Reports to: Security Cordinator

Employment Category: Part-time, non-exempt (10-15 hours per week)

The Gallery Attendant role is an important part of day-to-day operations at the Everson Museum of Art. This person will assist in the security of the Museum and its collections, as well as the safety and comfort of staff and visitors.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Alert security coordinator of incidents and circumstances necessary to maintain safe and secure environment.
• Monitor electronic cameras and burglar alarm systems as needed.
• Respond to emergency incidents and notify emergency services as needed.
• Write incident reports, documenting activities and incidents.
• Act as a support liaison for guests by answering questions and providing an overall positive experience.

Also,

• Provide custodial support for Museum interior and exterior facilities.
• Serve as part of a set-up team for events.
• Assist in other general Museum operations that may not be specifically listed above, as requested.

Requirements:

• Previous Security Guard experience preferred
• Previous Customer Service experience preferred
• High School Diploma
• Ability to stand for entire duration of shift
• Ability to lift 40lbs
• Variable schedule requires early mornings, nights, and weekends

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
