    The University of New Mexico, College of Education and Human Sciences, Department of Health, Exercise & Sports Sciences, invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Sport Administration, beginning August 2024.

    Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of graduate-level courses in sport administration potentially including the areas of sport marketing, leadership, sport law, risk management in sport and sport finance, advise master's and doctoral-level graduate students specializing in sport administration, and meet the needs for service in the department, college, university and the community. The candidate is expected to maintain an active research agenda.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Doctorate in Sport Administration or a closely-related field. Degree must be completed by start date.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Ability to chair or serve on doctoral dissertation committees and comprehensive exam committees for both M.S. and Ph.D students.
    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
    • Demonstrated ability or potential to conduct and publish original research in the area of Sport Administration.
    • Demonstrated ability or potential in teaching graduate-level courses in Sport Administration.
    • Demonstrated ability or potential to provide service to the program, college, and profession.
