Assistant Pharmacy Director assists department head in daily duties and assumes responsibility in his/her absence. Oversees pharmacists and provides pharmacy services. Being an Assistant Pharmacy Director compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals. Typically requires a master's degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy. Additionally, Assistant Pharmacy Director requires state Pharmacist License. Typically reports to top management. The Assistant Pharmacy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Assistant Pharmacy Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. - Plan, direct and monitor all financial, operational, professional, and clinical activities of the department.
- Ensure that all pharmacy staff is currently licensed, certified, and/or registered and complies with all applicable regulations, policies and standards of the hospital and PharmaCare Services.
- Develops rapport with hospital staff and provides timely information relative to drugs, policies and standards of care that relate to medication use and safety.
- Keep current with State regulations regarding the practice of Pharmacy and implements changes as necessary to maintain compliance.
Requirements
- Hospital pharmacy experience (minimum two years preferred)
- Georgia State Board Pharmacist License
- Good computer skills and experience with pharmacy software
- Self-motivating and proven leadership ability
- Sterile Compounding Experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
