Supervised by the building principal, the successful candidate serves as the co-administrative head of the school in the absence of the principal. The assistant principal is primarily responsible for student discipline and general supervision of students, assisting with evaluating school personnel, assisting with the coordination and development of the building master schedule, leading and coordinating professional learning communities, and working with parents and the community to foster positive relationships. The successful candidate will assist the principal in providing leadership to the staff, students, and parents, which will advance the D38 mission, and will promote the achievement of standards for students and staff.
The work year for this position is 205 days. The salary range is between $75,000 and $85,000. Previous successful experience in school administration is a major factor in determining salary.
The successful candidate must possess a Master's Degree and hold or be eligible for a Colorado Principal License. At least 5 years of successful teaching experience is preferred; middle level teaching experience preferred. Prior administration preferred. Working knowledge of Standards Based Education, experience with instructional strategies that promote academic achievement for all students, Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS), Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and Middle School Philosophy required.

Lewis-Palmer does provide one plan that is of no cost to the individual. Paid leave is accrued in accordance with District policies and afforded to all persons in accordance with Colorado law.
