The Current Weymouth (senior living community) offers 91 independent living apartments, 48 assisted living apartments, and 26 memory care apartments, with a neighborhood atmosphere and maintenance-free lifestyle. It's located near South Shore Hospital and directly across from the South Weymouth Train Station, offering easy access for team members, and residents’ families and friends.

The Program Director will develop and administer a comprehensive resident engagement and activity program to meet the needs, interests, and capabilities of the Residents within the community. The overarching goal is to administer a well-rounded, community-wide, social program schedule, helping each of our residents maintain an enriched and fulfilling lifestyle.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assumes the responsibility for the design and development of recreation and activity programs to meet the assessed needs, interests, and capabilities of the residents in the community
• Creates resident histories and profiles with family involvement. Summarizes information from histories. Shares information with associates as well as develop activities based on these interests
• Assumes responsibility for scheduling and coordinating miscellaneous social programs for the entire community and specific units (i.e., educational programs, entertainment programs, special events, games, group programs, spiritual services, etc.)
• Creates a monthly social program calendar, has the calendars printed, and distributes them to community personnel and residents
• Coordinates programs with other departments in the community and interfaces with all personnel as appropriate
• Seeks partnerships with local organizations to engage in programming at the community
• Assists with the development and provision of training and orientation programs for volunteers
• Oversee the transportation of resident medical appointments and outings.
• Drive the community vehicle when needed
• Responsible for creating and maintaining a monthly budget

• One to three years related experience and/or training in leading/creating activities for the elderly
• High school diploma or higher education preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Exhibit strong time management and organizational skills
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Willing to work flexible hours
• Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) with the ability to learn new applications

Physical Abilities

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is often required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.
• An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight in up to 25 lbs. The associate must use proper body mechanics.

Valuing a connection to the community, we are creating a pedestrian-friendly front plaza which will offer art fairs, farmers markets, and festivals. Monarch believes its buildings serve residents, their families, and the Monarch team members. Therefore, they have created a team member and resident co-working space; art, creative, and performance spaces; and the WELL center (fitness, yoga, spa, and a fully-stocked juice bar) which can be used by all.
