Professor - Dentistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Dentistry typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. The qualified candidate should have experience and an interest in teaching in the pre-doctoral and graduate operative curriculum and will be expected to support pre-clinical, clinical, and didactic courses at the pre-doctoral and graduate levels. Additionally, they will have the unique advantage of working in an environment with experienced colleagues in cariology and operative dentistry.The primary expectations of this position include but are not limited to, providing preclinical, clinical, didactic and laboratory instruction aligned with the candidate’s interests, performance of services necessary to implement the educational and academic objectives of operative dentistry, and engagement in university service at the department, school, and university levels.IUSD offers a dynamic learning environment for faculty, in which teaching, research, clinical care, and community service are core to our mission, through clinical programs in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Evansville, Indiana.
