Professor - Liberal Arts provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Liberal Arts typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks.     Provide assistance in the completion of clerical tasks, run errands and cover the desk in the absence of the Residence Life & Housing (RLH) Office Manager.
    Greet and assist students, staff and visitors in a friendly and attentive manner.
    Be aware of surroundings, address and report any areas of concern in a timely and efficient manner.
    Monitor all traffic coming in and going out of the Central Office.
    Establishes and maintains positive working relationships and open communication with residence area staff including the Area Coordinators, RA staff, fellow Student Assistants and Facilities staff.
    Follow the proper protocol to contact the residence areas staff and other resources on campus.
    Respond to all requests for assistance in a helpful manner by providing the appropriate resource and referral information.
    Assist in residence area opening and closing procedures.
    Assist in emergency response procedures.
    Report damages, maintenance concerns and lost and found items to the RLH Office Manger.
    Work all scheduled shifts, arriving on time and working until the next scheduled Student Assistant arrives.
    Keep Student Assistant and RLH Office Manager desk area, office and surroundings area clean and free of trash.
    Actively participate in all formal and informal evaluation processes established by RLH and HR.
    Attend scheduled Student Assistant meetings and specialized trainings throughout the academic year.

    Job Requirements:
    Be a matriculated undergraduate, full-time student and have a semesterly & cumulative GPA of 2.3 at time of application.
    Be in good standing with the Dean of Students Office.
    Show a strong skill set in Communication, Interpersonal, Organization, Time Management, Writing, Critical Thinking & Decision Making.
    Show commitment to diversity and support of all students.

    Additional Information:
    This position is open only to students currently enrolled at MCLA.

    Previous employment experience with Residence Life & Housing preferred.
