    Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

    Location: Roxbury campus

    Expected start date: February 2024

    The Dean of Liberal Arts and Health Careers is seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative staff assistant to provide administrative support to the Division of Liberal Arts and Health Careers. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic and collaborative environment within the Massachusetts Community College system.

    • Monitors the Division of Liberal Arts and Health Careers activities to ensure effective operations in compliance with established standards.
    • Confers with the college staff in order to exchange information, to coordinate efforts and to obtain information concerning the college programs and activities.
    • Maintains liaison with various local, state and federal agencies and others to exchange information, to resolve problems and to coordinate activities.
    • Reviews and analyzes data concerning assigned Division's activities in order to improve work methods, determine progress, revise established procedures and/or to provide information. Reviews business office documents, compares cost, and other duties relating to purchases.
    • Prepares reports concerning the assigned Division's activities in order to furnish required information and to make recommendations concerning procedures, programs and activities.
    • Respond to inquiries to provide information concerning the Division of Liberal Arts and Health Careers.
    • Communicates with faculty, staff, and students regarding The Division of Liberal Arts and Health Careers.
    • Performs related duties such as compiling data for use in reporting for the Division of Liberal Arts and Health Careers.
    • Compose letters and review documents for completeness, content and compliance with regulatory and legal standards.

    Job Requirements:
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize assignments.
    • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom, Teams, and/or another related computer office software (Office365).
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with extensive internal and external contact and frequent interruptions.
    • Ability to deal tactfully, confidentially, and respectfully with a wide variety of people.
    • Maintaining positive culture among all departments.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bilingual a Plus.
    • Experience working in a higher education and/or non-profit environment.
