Babson's undergraduate students take one-half of their courses in the liberal arts. We are looking for excellent teachers who are comfortable teaching interdisciplinary courses to non-majors, and who can make philosophy accessible to real world contexts and questions. During the fall 2024 semester, the professor would teach three sections of Introduction to Philosophy, which can be shaped to the faculty's expertise and interests. In the spring, the professor will teach generalist courses drawn from their specialization and help facilitate a speaker or luncheon series (titled "Dialogues") and workshop for undergraduates on topics related to constructive discussion, teaching, and learning in polarized times. We are open to all areas of specialization that present innovative pedagogical approaches to humanistic inquiry, critical thought, and the ethics of civic life (which might include questions of ecology, technology, social and political movements, or cultural theory e.g.).
Requirements: Please submit a letter of interest and CV. Review of applications will begin April 26, 2024, and will continue until the position is filled.
