Associate Dean of Continuing Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Continuing Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Distance Education Associate Dean of Advising assists the Dean of Retention & Completion in the oversight of the design, delivery, and quality of student support, as well as completion and graduation services for all Distance Education students. This position leads in the implementation of student experience initiatives to position the College as a forward-thinking leader in student services.
Within the framework of functional leadership, the Associate Dean of Advising works closely with the Advising team to achieve student retention and persistence goals. The Associate Dean of Advising is responsible for ensuring that services are accessible, consistent, innovative, and supportive of all Distance Education audiences. This position reports to the Distance Education Dean of Retention & Completion.
