Associate Dean of Law jobs in New York
Associate Dean of Law assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of law. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Law provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Law typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Law typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Associate Dean of Law typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Position: Law Associate, Corporate Law
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of corporate agreements and documents.
- Provide legal advice on issues such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, compliance, and governance.
- Prepare, draft, and file legal documents, including those for government agencies.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues to support client needs.
- Collaborate with team members to manage case preparation and represent clients in negotiations and transactions.
- Participate in client meetings and provide clear and concise legal advice and explanations.
- Keep up to date with changes in corporate law and relevant industry trends.
- Administer case management system, and track case status on a regular basis and inform clients of their case status.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) degree from an accredited US law school.
- Licensed or on track to be licensed to practice law in New York State.
- Proficiency in legal research and utilizing legal research tools.
- 2 years of relevant practice experience required. Practice experience in corporate law settings strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese preferred.
