Associate Dean of Nursing assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of nursing. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Nursing provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Nursing typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Nursing manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Associate Dean of Nursing typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities- Proven record of effectiveness in student advising and development of programs that address the needs of students from underrepresented backgrounds and promote student success.
- Exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving, proficiency in teamwork, collaboration, flexibility, and strong communication to multiple audiences.
- Capacity to foster strong and effective relationships with students, faculty, staff, families, and campus partners.
- Solid foundation in student developmental theory and its application to professional practice in student affairs.
- Commitment to DEI work in higher education.
- Experience with on-call responsibilities and student crisis management.
- Master’s Degree with 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in undergraduate academic support services, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Professional experience in Student Affairs strongly preferred.
- Experience working in the context of a highly selective liberal arts institution

- Provides day-to-day support and guidance for the upper-level dean team consistent with Undergraduate Deans Office policies and practices
- Works with the Office Manager to develop and maintain office schedules to ensure appropriate coverage
