Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of an undergraduate program. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. General Summary: Provides direction for and shapes the liberal arts General Education curriculum, with special focus on the global and inclusive leadership curricular initiatives that inform the SUMMIT curriculum, including signature high impact experiences. Maintains robust connections between Agnes Scott and the broader higher ed community, keeping the SUMMIT experience informed by best practices in higher education, and promoting Agnes Scott's innovative experiences. Reports to the vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college.
