Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of an undergraduate program. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Assistant Director, Undergraduate Programs - Psychology & Neuroscience
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $55,850 to $69,800; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Provide direct support to the Chair of the Psychology and Neuroscience Department and the Director of Undergraduate Studies to implement undergraduate programming in psychology and neuroscience for approximately 1000 majors and additional students who will complete coursework as part of their broader education at Boston College. Provide direct and ongoing academic advising and engagement with students, in close collaboration with the Director of Academic Advising. Create events to showcase undergraduate research opportunities and students’ research experiences. Organize career and professional development programs for undergraduate students. Manage communications between psychology and neuroscience faculty and undergraduate students. Work closely with multiple departments across the university to support student success. Assist and support department activities.
