    Middlesex School seeks a permanent Full-time Director of Financial Aid/Associate Director of Admissions for the 2024-25 academic year. Reporting to the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, the new hire will join a highly collaborative Admissions team that aspires to enroll a diverse and talented student body. Previous financial aid experience is preferable, though the school will consider other applicants who have strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, sensitivity to dealing with prospective families and confidential information, and advanced project management capabilities. The Director of Financial Aid/Associate Director of Admissions is charged with assessing financial need and determining need-based awards for prospective and returning families. Working within school budget constraints, the Director of Financial Aid oversees a small group of colleagues in this assessment and consults with the Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid on the strategic allocation of financial aid grants. In addition, the Director Financial Aid oversees the administration of an expense budget provided to ensure an equitable experience for lower-income families. 

    As an Associate Director of Admissions, the position also includes interviewing, travel, and applicant assessment as part of the Admissions Committee, and other projects as assigned.  The typical admission officer interviews approximately 160-180 applicants a year; travels in and out of state for roughly three weeks; reads 400 applications a year; and manages or assists with a variety of office tasks and projects. Saturdays are required when school is in session, and there are occasional required Admission Office or School evening events.
