Church Location Description: Mosaic City Church is a relatively new multiethnic church plant in the city of York, Pennsylvania. York is located in the heart of the Susquehanna Valley, central to many of the major cities in the East. York is a unique blend of urban culture, suburban comfort, and rural living.

Compensation: Full-time salary with benefits, Rent-free housing available

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Degree in theology or appropriate educational or practical experience, with the goal of becoming ordained in the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination.
• Commitment to personal evangelism and living missionally
• Experience working in an urban, cross-cultural ministry environment
• Strong reliance on the Holy Spirit in both personal and professional life
• Agreement with doctrinal statement of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Denomination
• Alignment with Mosaic’s vision and values

Essential Characteristics/Job Functions:

• Leadership: Work with the leadership team to establish a cross-cultural community in the church, while helping to establish a strategy for reaching the lost and impacting the community. Be capable of leading roles within several ministries of the church. Desirable areas may include helping to establish and develop Worship, Children, Youth, and Outreach ministries. Be capable of casting vision and operate/lead within that vision.
• Self-Starter: Be proficient in time management, prioritizing workload, and accomplishing goals. Be proactive in self-development. Assume a posture of a learner.
• Team Player: Participate as one of four people on the pastoral leadership team. Work to create a consensus. Be willing to submit to the decision of the group.
• Communicator/Teacher: Practice solid communication skills across many different levels of the organization. Be capable of preaching and teaching in a variety of settings.
• Mobilizer/Community Relationship: Work with the leadership team to help the church build relationships with those in the local community (bridge builder). Connect and serve with local organizations in the community. Help establish a culture of missional transformation. Be willing to lead by example.
• Personal: Establish a Sabbath day and be held accountable for it. Maintain a healthy balance between ministry, family life, and other responsibilities. Be willing to engage in other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is a person with experience living and serving in an urban, non-majority culture. They will also be willing to engage ministry from a learning perspective, operating as an equal part of the dynamic pastoral leadership team, and developing the personal, relational, and leadership skills necessary to succeed in the role.

Mosaic City Church exists to unite diverse people into the family of God by sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ in Albemarle Park, York City, and beyond.

Planted by York Alliance Church in 2020 during the Coronavirus pandemic, Mosaic started with a core team of 35 individuals and has grown to a steady attendance of 65. The demographic makeup of the body is roughly 50% white, 40% African-American, and 10% Latino. The church is in its infancy stage, but has a steady presence of connecting and serving the local community. Mosaic is committed to a gospel-centered philosophy that is built upon Jesus Christ and is empowered by the Holy Spirit.

As a church plant, Mosaic is governed by York Alliance Church, which is a part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination.
