Asst. Professor - Accounting teaches courses in the discipline area of accounting. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Accounting provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. Under the general supervision of the Division Dean of, the Adjunct Associate Professor of Applied Science, Business & Technology Division teaches organized classes primarily in the Accounting discipline(s); the primary responsibility is to teach up to 10 units (part-time) in the assigned discipline.
Duties and responsibilities may include, but not limited to the following:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master of Accountancy or Taxation or Master of Laws in Taxation
OR
Bachelor's in business with accounting emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with accounting emphasis AND Master's in Business Administration with accounting concentration OR Bachelor's degree with valid CPA license
Demonstrated teaching experience.
Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
