    Description

    Anderson University is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in Biology at the Assistant Professor level, though higher ranks will be considered for extraordinary candidates, beginning August 2023. We are seeking biologists with distinguished records in teaching and research who are excited to help continue the growth that the department has experienced over the last decade.

    The Department hosts programs in Biology that lead to a B.A. or a B.S. in Biology. Additionally, the Biology department collaborates with the Department of Physical Sciences & Engineering for a B.A. or B.S. in Biochemistry. Graduates from both Biology and Biochemistry majors have gone on to graduate studies in Biology, Biochemistry, as well as medical, dental, and veterinarian schools. Others have found successful careers in industry.

    The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, both lower- and upper-level, within the biology curriculum, as well as classes geared toward non-science majors. Candidates comfortable teaching a range of biology subjects are preferred.

    Additionally, all faculty in the department are expected to maintain research programs designed to engage undergraduates, and are encouraged to seek external funding to support these efforts. Candidates from any field of biology or biochemistry are encouraged to apply.

    Qualifications


    Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field by the start of employment. Candidates who are ABD or who possess a Masters degree with additional coursework will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

    The selected candidate will have a passion to partner with current faculty to support the other programs in the School of Science & Engineering and the broader institution.

    The university remains closely affiliated with its founding church and values its heritage and history. The candidate will be required to possess a mature Christian faith.

    Benefits: This is a full-time, tenure-track position with eligibility for university benefits. This is a 9-month position paid over 12 months.
