Massachusetts Bay Community College invites applications for a full-time,
tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Environmental
Sciences from qualified applicants. Responsibilities will include developing
and teaching foundational undergraduate courses in Environmental Sciences,
including introductory level and advanced courses. The successful candidate
will be comfortable offering hands-on laboratory courses using a variety of
instruments, software, and tools. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a
passion for the relevant technical field(s) and will be able to share their
excitement with a diverse student body through inclusive teaching. They will
demonstrate their commitment to improving their capacity to mentor and support
students by participating in professional meetings. They will demonstrate a
solid understanding of the role of a community college in workforce development
and will also demonstrate a strong commitment to shared governance,
collaboration, and professional development. This position will assist the
department in tracking and identifying industry/employer needs and will develop
relevant courses and teaching strategies for students with diverse interests
and learning styles to support student recruitment and retention.
