Asst. Professor - History teaches courses in the discipline area of history. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - History provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - History typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field. We are a great non-profit organization dedicated to providing professional, effective education to at-risk students committed to DMH congregate programs. We serve our students in over thirty small residential programs throughout Massachusetts.
We are especially interested in Massachusetts Secondary (grades 8-12) Content and/or Special Education licensed teachers with experience with at-risk students, however we will also consider unlicensed teachers who would like to work toward teacher certification.
