JOB TITLE: Assistant Teacher in a Nature Preschool

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting a teacher/lead teacher supervising and managing a class or small group of students between the ages of years old in a Nature Preschool setting.

The full time position will work with children ages 2.9-5 years. This class uses our entire campus as a classroom. This class is outdoors 80% of the time, so hardy, energetic applicants will love this position.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Attend recommended training programs and all staff meetings
• Assist and implement the “daily program” under the direction of the lead/teacher.
• Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing materials and supplies
• Assist teaching children in an outdoor/farm setting
• General housekeeping tasks; help maintain bathrooms, kitchen, halls, outdoor spaces.
• Maintain current First Aid and CPR training certificate.
• Assist the teacher in any other appropriate ways.
• Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with parents and children.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Must love nature, being outdoors, teaching and learning.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (Including but not limited to):

• Ability to lift a 30 – 40 pound child.
• Ability to physically interact with preschool age children in all areas of the building and property
• Ability to walk and carry supplies and materials for lessons to all parts of the 12 acre campus
• Ability to be outdoors as you care for and educate the students in all weather.

DESCRETION/DECISION MAKING:

• The Assistant Teacher reports to the Lead Teacher and the School Coordinator.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
