The Opportunity:

The Elementary Music Classroom Product Enrichment Specialist will create content for West Music’s largest customer segment, the Elementary Classroom Music Teacher, and related segments, such as early childhood centers and school music coordinators and purchasing agents. The PES must understand trends in elementary music and be familiar with common pedagogical approaches, such as Orff Schulwerk, Kodaly, World Music Drumming, and other frequently used approaches in the elementary music classroom. They are expected to study current trends and analyze the customer’s buying habits to then utilize this information for writing compelling product information. This may include attending trade shows and conferences to help design appropriate product content and presentation.  They must have the ability to understand, describe and market products we stock or represent for their potential use in the elementary music room. Using the manufacturer’s description as a starting point, the Specialist will utilize their creativity and knowledge of the customer segment and our products to create a compelling story for customers. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement product content strategies for elementary music classroom products.
• Create compelling customer-focused content for the West Music National Catalog and other customer facing channels
• Articulate product positioning and messaging for target audiences to differentiate products from our competition and translate product details into features and benefits for our customers
• Collaborate with the marketing team to promote products through various channels.
• Partner with Category Managers and Business Unit Leads in determining use cases for their targeted customer segment and creating relevant content for new products.
• Ensure product information is written with an understanding of the target customer and their needs to increase click-rate and sell-through.
• Coordinate with web team to create new and enhance existing web listings to achieve optimal SEO rankings.  

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in , music education, or a related field.
• Microsoft Office experience required
• Must have knowledge or experience in pedagogical approaches used int he active elementary classroom
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to make complex concepts easy to understand.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
• An interest in or experience with music, particularly in a classroom setting.

Nice-to-haves:

• Teaching experience preferred
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Creative and innovative thinking--always looking for new ways to engage customers and improve the user experience
