    JOB TITLE:                       

    Clinical Assistant Professor, Graduate Clinical Coordinator – Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing

    JOB PURPOSE:   

    Coordinate clinical placements for Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students in both the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) tracks. Develop academic-practice partnerships between the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing (FWWSON) and clinical agencies throughout the state of Wyoming.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    • Support DNP (FNP and PMHNP) student clinical experiences by developing and maintaining strong clinical partnerships with preceptors and healthcare agencies throughout the state. 
    • Identify and arrange clinical placements for both FNP and PMHNP students in the FWWSON DNP program.
    • Develop a process for preceptor education and support.
    • Foster relationships between the FWWSON and clinical agencies throughout Wyoming. 
    • Teaching courses in the DNP program (25%)
    • Develop a program of research/scholarship (10%)
    • Administrative duties to include statewide travel fostering relationships with preceptors and clinical agencies (40%)
    • Service on FWWSON, College of Health Sciences and University committees (5%)
    • Maintain professional practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), with 0.2 FTE dedicated to continued practice as an APRN.

    REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

    This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

    Education: Doctorate degree in nursing from an accredited institution. 

    Experience: Minimum of 2-year experience practicing as an APRN (as a FNP or PMHNP). Eligible for unencumbered APRN licensure in Wyoming as a FNP or PMHNP.

    Other: 

    • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
    • In order to comply with rules and regulations from the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services, employees who work in the University’s units that serve Medicaid and Medicare patients will be subject to the federal mandate that requires these employees to be fully vaccinated or have an approved religious or medical exemption.
