Asst. Professor - Physical Therapy teaches courses in the discipline area of physical therapy. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Physical Therapy provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Physical Therapy typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field. POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
The Physical Therapist Assistant is a qualified professional who, under the general supervision from the Home Health Physical Therapist, provides direct patient care as prescribed by the referring physician.
Administers care plans developed by the physical therapist. Observes response to treatment, documents and adjusts treatment for the quality provisions of care.
Suggests areas of departmental and personal improvements related to therapy area. Attains required and procedural competencies.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
- State of Indiana Physical Therapy Assistant license required, or eligible for state licensure within 180 days.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required.
- Meets hiring criteria as defined in agency’s minimum standards.
- Must accept responsibility for maintaining clinical practice skills, learning and adhering to agency’s policies and procedures on an on-going basis.
- Must maintain current CPR certification.
