Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Social Work typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field. The purpose of the position is to provide services to meet the social and/or emotional needs that affect the participants? ability to achieve their goals. Program participants live in the Topeka area; however, candidates can complete most job responsibilities at home other than assessments that are in-person.
Job responsibilities include:
Assess the ongoing psychosocial needs of participants/families based on emotional, environmental, financial, psychological, cognitive, social and health factors and access community resources when applicable.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in the development and ongoing evaluation of a psychosocial care plan.
Involve the patient/family in determining care goals and objectives.
Recognize signs and symptoms of psychiatric illness and provide therapeutic interventions to address the stages of grief and loss.
