Athletic Trainer treats and prevents athletic injuries by developing therapies to reduce pain and improve mobility under the direction of a physician. Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing. Being an Athletic Trainer may require state license to practice. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in exercise science, sports science or equivalent. Additionally, Athletic Trainer typically requires certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Athletic Trainer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     In this position you will:

    • Provide athletic training services within scope of practice as outlined by the Board of Certification (BOC)
    • Collaborate with patient, parent/guardian, healthcare teams and other providers to provide patient centered care
    • Work with a supportive ATvantage Staff and Athletics Administration to provide service in the Secondary School Setting
    • Practice athletic healthcare to patients/student-athletes as appropriate
    • including but not limited to wellness protection, prevention, assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and administration of sport related injuries and illnesses
    • Organize comprehensive health and treatment plans for participants of multiple sports
    • Perform general health and physical evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitation services
    • Work with adolescent athletes and should feel comfortable doing so
    • Be competent as a skilled, confident, and engaging Certified Athletic Trainer who will work onsite at a high school athletic training facility
