Aviation Manager manages overall aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Develops plans and schedules skill development and training sessions for pilots, crews, and operators. Being a Aviation Manager ensures all operations follow and comply with current FAA regulations, airworthiness, and safety standards. Oversees flight scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and inspection operations. Additionally, Aviation Manager applies risk management best practices for safety to assess and manage operations May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Aviation Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Aviation Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a result of our success, we have a full-time position available for a Senior Aviation Project Manager to join our Aviation Architecture team in Charleston, SC.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include managing medium to large projects for budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation; developing and managing client contacts to secure future work; developing proposals including scope and pricing; and providing project quality control. Travel will be required (potentially up to 50% of the time).

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate must have the following:

    • A professional degree in architecture, engineering, or other related field from an accredited college or university
    • At least 10 years of related technical experience with at least 2 years of project management experience.

     

    The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: Experience managing medium to large projects; experience working on and/or managing aviation or government projects; experience developing new clients and maintaining relationships with current clients; experience developing proposals including scope and pricing; experience with quality control; and experience mentoring less experienced staff.

     

    A professional license in architecture is highly preferred.
