Behavioral Health Director jobs in Greenville, SC

Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Behavioral Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Job Summary

    The position is responsible for patient assessment, psychological testing and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults. Provides individual, couples, family and group behavioral treatment, patient and community, and student education.

    Accountabilities

    • Provide individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy.\u00A0 Utilize independent decision-making in plan of care for therapy services provided.\u00A0
    • Conduct psychological testing and assessment for designated psychiatric patients.
    • Provide timely professional documentation of psychological testing reports, treatment plans and progress notes.
    • Participate in the training/teaching of students and residents.
    • Works in conjunction with treating psychiatrist and makes appropriate referrals to other professionals or community services as needed.
    • Actively participate in development of psychological services for the Department of Psychiatry, to include community outreach and education

    Supervisory/Management Responsibility

    This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Doctorate in Clinical psychology, PhD or PsyD
    • 1 year of Post-doctoral experience in medical setting

    Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

    South Carolina License to Practice Clinical Psychology (Lawson Code LLCP)

    In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements

    PsyD is the equivalent to PhD.\u00A0 EdD accepted as long as licensure is obtained.

    Team members employed in this job prior to July 1, 2020 are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements. In addition, team members must be certification eligible and will have one year to obtain required certification.\u00A0
