Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides oversight and administration for the System’s benefits program, including health and welfare benefits, leave of absence, short term disability, qualified retirement plans and other ancillary benefits and programs. Acts as benefits technical expert and provides guidance to Benefits Specialist and HR team members. Consults with and advises stakeholders on complex matters regarding eligibility, provisions and other matters related to benefits and leaves of absence. Works closely with HR, Payroll and Finance departments regarding the exchange of data and information for ongoing Plan operations. Review Plan operations and applications in a non-discriminatory manner to assure compliance with Plan design, ERISA and IRS regulations. Collaborates in the preparation of employee benefits communications.
Essential Functions:
Work/Life Benefits: Oversees all Work/Life benefits plans to ensure compliance with plan documents and federal, state and local regulations.
Vendor Relationship: Monitors service quality and maintains relationship with benefits vendors and insurance providers.
Plan Inquiry Management: Responds to escalated work/life benefits and retirement plan-related inquiries. Assists in monitoring workflow and work product of Benefits Specialist and Total Rewards Assistant.
Open Enrollment Administration: Oversees annual process for open enrollment as well as ongoing administration throughout the plan year. Assists in administration for Short-Term and Long-Term Disability claims. Coordinates COBRA and Flexible Spending, Pension and Retirement Savings with our vendor partners. Reconciles biweekly retirement plan contributions.
Retirement Plan Administration: Assists in general retirement plan administration to include, fund changes, monitoring forfeitures, delinquent loans, rehire management, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
- 3-5 years.
