    Job Summary:  
    We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Bereavement Coordinator to join our team at Bloom. This individual will be responsible for providing comfort and support to families during a difficult time. The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to empathize with families. Our Bereavement Coordinator will need to have a degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field, as well as previous experience working with bereavement and grief.     Responsibilities:
    • Providing emotional support: The bereavement coordinator offers a compassionate and understanding presence to those who are grieving. They listen to their concerns, validate their emotions, and offer empathy and comfort.
    • Offering resources and information: Bereavement coordinators often provide information about grief, coping strategies, and support services available in the community. They may offer referrals to therapists, support groups, or other resources that can help individuals navigate their grief journey.
    • Facilitating support groups: Many bereavement coordinators lead or facilitate support groups for individuals who have experienced a loss. These groups provide a safe space for people to share their experiences, connect with others who are grieving, and receive support and encouragement.
    • Providing education and guidance: Bereavement coordinators may educate individuals and families about the grieving process, including common emotions and reactions, ways to cope with grief, and how to support others who are grieving.
    • Collaborating with other professionals: They may work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as social workers, counselors, or clergy members, to ensure that individuals and families receive comprehensive support during their bereavement.
    • Overall, the role of a bereavement coordinator is to provide compassionate support and practical assistance to help individuals and families navigate the challenging process of grieving and adjusting to life after loss. 
    Qualifications:
    • Education: A bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, nursing, or a related field is required. Master's degree in a relevant field, especially for positions with higher levels of responsibility.
    • Training in grief counseling: Specialized training or certification in grief counseling is highly desirable. This could include courses in bereavement support, grief therapy techniques, and understanding the grieving process.
    • Experience: Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, hospice care, counseling, or social work is often preferred. Experience providing support to individuals and families who are grieving can be particularly valuable.
    • Communication skills: Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with individuals who are grieving and their families. This includes active listening, empathy, and the ability to communicate compassionately and sensitively.
    • Interpersonal skills: Bereavement coordinators must be able to establish rapport and build trust with grieving individuals and families. They should be able to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and be sensitive to cultural differences in grieving practices.
    • Organizational skills: This role may involve managing multiple responsibilities, including coordinating support services, maintaining records in excel and word, and scheduling appointments. Strong organizational skills are important for staying on top of these tasks and ensuring that individuals receive the support they need in a timely manner.

The pay range for this role in the state of Colorado typically falls between $53,000 - $73,000 annually with the potential for performance-based bonuses and other benefits. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and location within the state.
