Being a Biomedical Engineer collaborates with medical professionals to gather information for product specifications. Ensures that designs and devices meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements and standards, such as the FDA regulations and ISO standards. Additionally, Biomedical Engineer utilizes or develops software to perform testing or integrate with devices. Requires a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related engineering or science discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Biomedical Engineer work is closely managed. Job Summary
Function as primary responsible contact with the Bio Medical Engineering Services Service Line. Manages repair and maintenance activities performed by Bio Medical Engineering staff across all Avera. Provides on-site and off-site leadership for all components of the medical equipment management program. Participates in the development of service line and entity continuous quality improvements initiatives. Maximizes patient safety by supporting proper use, application, and operational performance of patient care equipment. Act as technical resource to Bio Medical Engineering staff for repair and maintenance activities on equipment and related systems. Is the Manager for the Service Area Supervisors.
