Bond Sales Officer is responsible for buying and selling of government or corporate bonds and securities. Advises clients on investment options; satisfies client needs through the strategic marketing of the bonds and securities. Being a Bond Sales Officer monitors market conditions to maximize profits for customers and the institution. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or in a related area and may require state licensure. Additionally, Bond Sales Officer typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Bond Sales Officer work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Pretrial Bond Officer I
  • Bexar County
  • San Antonio, TX FULL_TIME
  • Under direct supervision, is responsible for monitoring the status of defendants released on bond with specialized conditions of bond; verifies defendant information and reviews court documents; tracks number of defendants released or denied bond; and performs related duties as required.
    • Develops case files for defendants released on bond with specialized conditions of bond such as drug testing, substance abuse education, domestic violence, ignition interlock and special supervision
    • Verifies defendant information, such as home address, attorney and personal references
    • Verifies case information, such as court dates, bond forfeitures and warrants
    • Reviews official documents and queries on-line computer databases to determine changes in case status
    • Prepares correspondence to criminal courts and reports any bond violations
    • Informs defendants, attorneys and court personnel of changes in case or defendant status
    • Prepares and submits change of address letters and attorney verification letters
    • Maintain case files regarding all defendant supervision activity
    • Attempts to contact defendants who fail to report-in or otherwise fail to meet the terms of their bond agreement
    • Maintains log file of defendants released or denied bond
    • Responds to telephone inquiries from defendants, attorneys, court personnel and the general public concerning cases
    • Performs related duties as required
    • Graduation from High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate, and three (3) years' experience in a legal setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Knowledge of court procedures; knowledge of basic legal terminology
    • Skill in applying rules of English spelling, grammar and punctuation. Skill in operating a personal computer, typewriter and other office equipment
    • Ability to accurately enter data; ability to organize information; ability to maintain alphabetic and numeric filing systems; ability to effectively respond to questions and complaints; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other County employees, defendants, attorneys, outside organizations and the general public
    • Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
    • Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
    • May work weekends and perform shift work
    • May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
    Working Conditions and Physical Environment:  
    • Working conditions are primarily indoors
    • Required to work in jail environment
    • Occasionally moves items weighing up to 10-15 pounds
    • Occasionally moves about the office
    • Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
    • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
    • Positions self to perform essential functions
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position
