JOB SUMMARY:
The Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor works collaboratively with the College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) Workforce Training and Continuing Education (WTCE) to provide the didactic and clinical portion of the CNA course of instruction. Serves as a primary instructor of CNA class, and clinical instruction for CNA, LPN, and RN Programs. Will be responsible for planning and implementing the CNA curriculum and collaborating with CEI in evaluating and testing of CNA candidates. Will be based mainly in Idaho Falls, ID and occasionally Rexburg, ID

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide the didactic, lab, and clinical portions of the CNA class.
2. Provide clinical instruction and oversight for other CNA courses and/or nursing program
clinical experiences.
3. Maintain strict adherence to CNA state and federal guidelines for procedure, practice,
and operation.
4. Maintain current professional knowledge and conduct while adhering to the standards of
MVH, CEI, and WTCE.
5. Respond to students, instructors, and staff with written and verbal communication.
6. Report problems with students to the Programs Director/Healthcare Programs Manager
at WTCE.
7. Proficient skills using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
8. Ability to operate all standard office equipment.
9. Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace.
10. Skilled in teaching adult learners, and teaching in an online and face to face setting.
11. Willing to work on a flexible schedule to meet education requirements.
12. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to
deal with student issues and resolve problems.
13. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with students, coworkers, and the
community, as a representative for MVH, CEI and WTCE.
14. Ability to look at situations from several points of view.
15. Well-developed creative and analytical thinking skills and the ability to apply critical
thinking and problem-solving skills in daily tasks.
16. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Education/Certification: A current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Idaho. Must be approved by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) as an approved CNA Instructor and show evidence of completing a Train-the-Trainer type program if not already completed.
Experience: : Evidence of two (2) years’ experience working as a registered nurse and evidence of one (1) year experience in caring for the elderly in a Long-Term Care Facility or equivalent as an RN. Evidence of completion of a course in methods of instruction or a Train-the-Trainer program. Idaho DHW approved CNA Instructor, preferred.

Language/Communication: Ability to read, speak, and write in English
