Budtender position:
Budtenders @ Higher Elevation will be Canna-friendly guides to help our customers understand, select and purchase our full range of cannabis products. This includes a large selection of flower, concentrates, edibles and topicals. The ideal budtender will be able to learn about all strains regarding the efficacy, effects, aroma, taste and aesthetic of Higher Elevation’s in store products, but will also be a warm, welcoming, and compassionate liaison to the community and fellow coworkers. Budtender will be an upbeat, energetic presence who appreciates the subtleties and nuances of a superior customer experience.
Key Responsibilities include:
· Follow Vermont Cannabis Control Board rules about brochures, not giving medical advice, checking ID’s, safe handling of product, etc.
· Providing great customer service and building meaningful rapport to each and every person who walks through our door
· Educating first-time cannabis consumers to the category and the products in a caring and compassionate manner with strong attention to their tolerance and expectations
· Becoming educated on every product we carry including expected effects, benefits, selling points, and more
· Answering any questions our customers have in a friendly, professional and patient manner
· Ringing up customer orders and accepting payment accurately every time
· Helping maintain cleanliness of the store, stocking and restocking products as needed,
· Arriving on time, in uniform, and meeting grooming standards every shift
· Following all retail procedures including but not limited to, check in, check out, sales, and more
· Communicating clearly with the store managers and other members of the team
· Being a positive representation of Higher Elevation brand at all times
Hours, Pay & Benefits:
Part time: approximately 24 to 36 hours per week to full time: 40 hours per week, must work weekends, weekdays available, opening shifts-9:30am to 5:30pm or closing shifts 12pm to 7:30pm, set weekly schedule with potential for some extra shifts.
Pay will be $20 to $23 per hour depending on experience. Although cannabis experience is not required it would be a great benefit. We would also consider similar work experience such as wait staff, bartending, managing large stocks of cheese, wine or beer, etc.
All new hires will be considered temporary with the chance to be hired on to the team in 90 days. To be considered for the team it would require license approval from Cannabis Control Board of Vermont (by passing both background checks and completing Vermont Cannabis Retail Training) and staff approval.
