About the job:
The Buildings & Grounds Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall preservation of company’s buildings, grounds, and site services which include, but not limited to landscaping, snow removal, lawn maintenance, employee/furniture moves, painting, plumbing, and small to medium size capital renovation projects. Other facility projects and tasks as assigned or required by our internal customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Required:
- Travels from site to site; inspects facilities, buildings, and grounds for routine maintenance and cleanliness; prioritizes repairs and renovations.
- Prioritizes and responds to facility requests. Responds to inquiries in a timely and courteous manner; provides information within the area of assignment; resolves complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
- Monitors and maintains operation of all utility systems to include Plumbing, Storm Drain, Plumbing, Fire Protection Systems, Elevators, HVAC, Lighting, etc.
- Monitors and coordinates site Janitorial Services
- Plans and oversees landscaping and complete grounds maintenance activities, maintenance of parking lots and sidewalks including lawn maintenance and removal of snow/ice and trash.
- Monitors and maintains site agricultural and pond services, pest control, etc.
- Requisition building maintenance supplies, material, and equipment; monitor inventory; load and unload supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Coordinates and assists in people/furniture relocations or installations.
- Coordinates Load and delivery of tables and chairs to support special events.
- Scopes, sources, and manages renovation projects within existing facilities cohesively and efficiently by working with operations, safety, environmental, quality, accounting, sourcing, and/or any other internal and external project stakeholders.
Qualifications: (education, experience/skills, personal attributes):
Education:
Associate’s degree – Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Construction Engineering. Other technical degree may be considered with applicable experience.
Experience/Skills:
Essential:
- 3-5 years minimum experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing and/or corporate office environment.
- Ability to read, interpret and create drawings, specifications, and other information required to support design and development of construction documentation from concept through full implementation of a project.
- General knowledge of national and local building codes, Environmental, OSHA and/or application of codes governed by other localities.
- Experience working with outside contractors to include competitive bid process, responding to RFI’s, issue addendums, process change orders, track cost and any related task required by the process.
- Due to the broad nature of Facility Engineering projects, having basic knowledge in the following engineering disciplines is important: Architectural, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, and Mechanical.
- Strong skills in the following software: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project or related project management software.
Pluses:
- Working knowledge of the building process and construction principles.
- Experience with and managing of work order systems.
