Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Sunoco LP is the largest wholesale fuel supplier in the U.S., supplying both branded and unbranded fuel to over 8,000 locations in North America.
    The Sales Specialist will be a key member of the Business Development team. This position requires a driven individual with a strong business acumen, excellent communication and relationship skills and a passion for success.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly production and distribution of key performance metrics, reports, presentations, and dashboards for team. 
    • Support process for ensuring monthly forecasts for EBITDA and capital expenditures are accurate. Coordinate with and support team members with data updates.
    • Regularly analyze data on opportunities logged in Salesforce. Identify key themes and opportunities to present to senior management and other internal stakeholders.
    • Monitor Salesforce process compliance for business development team. Produce and analyze reports to ensure process adherence. Identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
    • Provide Salesforce support for larger opportunities and acquisitions to ensure timely and accurate management through process, allowing for the prompt realization of EBITDA.
    • Provide support for special projects as needed.

    Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 2 to 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, operations, or related field.
    • Detail oriented and meticulous about data accuracy across multiple systems
    • Experience with Excel (Intermediate/Advanced understanding preferred)
    • Experience with Salesforce preferred
    • Self-starter who excels in ambiguous and challenging problems.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining organization and timely completion of projects
    • Strong oral and written communication skills. Comfortable interacting with individuals across different departments and at various levels within the organization

    Working Conditions:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    1.    Usually, normal office working conditions.

    2.    Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

    3.    Occasional overnight travel may be required.

    4.    Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
