Business Development Supervisor jobs in California

Business Development Supervisor identifies, evaluates, and pursues business opportunities with partners or potential customers. Coordinates and negotiates with other departments to implement marketing initiatives. Being a Business Development Supervisor is responsible for maintaining close relationship with existing clients. Acquires new customers, retains and expands existing customer relationships. Additionally, Business Development Supervisor develops sales of products and services by investigating and resolving customer problems, recommends modifications to the product/service line, and coordinates sales negotiations with appropriate personnel. Responsible for meeting sales volume and revenue goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or marketing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Development Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Responsibilities:
    • Track performance goals and key sales metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis to make sure company goals are achieved
    • Expand the clientele by finding new business opportunities within specific geographies
    • Assess and send qualified leads to inbound sales representatives so they can convert clients and provide quick turnaround
    • Communicate with prospects via email, phone calls or other forms of communication to convert them into qualified leads and funnel them to the sales pipeline
    • Keep the customer database updated to ensure information on prospective and past clients is current

    • Prospect potential customers via cold calling from provided contact leads, via phone, email, or chat.. Update sales pipeline with appropriate statuses and notes

    Qualifications:
    • Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and be able to travel by car
    • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as interpersonal skills and time management skills
    • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
    • Experience using CRM software as part of the sales process
    • 2 years of experience in sales or a similar role
