Business Process Optimization Manager manages teams that study and develop optimization changes to an organization's business processes to improve operational efficiencies, quality, service, and profitability. Conducts research on best practices and industry trends for the business. Being a Business Process Optimization Manager oversees the in-depth analysis of existing workflows. Utilizes flowcharts and process maps to define existing processes and identify areas needing improvement. Additionally, Business Process Optimization Manager engages and organizes subject matter experts and cross-functional groups to collect inputs. Implements the tools required to collect and measure relevant data, identify key performance indicators (KPI), and produce a data-driven analysis of critical functions. Introduces new business processes to the organization and produces documentation, tools, and training to support adoption. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Business Process Optimization Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Process Optimization Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     • A trusted advisor, leveraging its expertise of Continues Process Improvement and Business Process mapping including but not limited to Lifecycle Approach, Governance and Strategic Alignment; and

    As a Business Process Manager, you will help build a center of excellence and lead a team that plays a critical role in working on broken and/or undocumented  business processes, core leading technology solutions used to enhance business processes, cultural assessments - how much and how fast an organization is willing to change.  As a leader in the BPM CoE, you will be provided learning opportunities and career development coaching.

    This role reports to Hormel’s Head of Internal Controls.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • BPM Strategy (15%)
      • Building a strategy for Hormel with the least amount of resistance related to Business Process Management and implementing the strategy.
    • BPM Leadership (25%):
      • Lead, manage, and direct the team members of the BPM CoE.  Create and instill a highly effective, sustainable culture of process excellence.
    • Business Relationship Management (15%):
      • Create and instill relationships with all global process owners across the enterprise to continuously improve BPM services
    • BPM Lifecycle Approach (15%):
      • Lead, manage, and direct team members, process owners and stakeholders through the BPM Lifecycle approach to continuously standardize, optimize, and improve process efficiency and customer service. This includes scoping/definition, process mapping, process analysis, process redesign and process management. 
    • BPM Governance, Strategic Alignment, and Program Management (15%):
      • Lead, manage, and direct the BPM governance framework across all organizational stakeholders.  Establish, communicate, and direct the strategic alignment of the BPM CoE with all areas of the company.  Continuously refine and improve the BPM program and services with clearly defined policies & procedures, training, KPIs, etc.
    • Change Management (15%):
      • Creates and leads a culture of process excellence across the enterprise. Communicates and sets expectations of organizational stakeholders.  Leads and manages the training & adoption of BPM.  Leads and manages BPM transformation initiatives. 

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Exceptional project management experience.
    • 5 years of experience within a BPM function in a mid to large publicly listed corporation.  Ideally with experience in a leadership position.
    • Hands on experience with large complex organizations with:
      • Broken business processes 
      • Best in class business processes
      • Core leading technology solutions used to enhance business processes.
      • Cultural assessment - how much and how fast an organization is willing to change.
    • Exceptional process mapping experience 
      • Extraordinary documentation skills where complex processes can be captured clearly. 
    • Exceptional process mining experience 
      • Experience with tools/technology used to perform process mining.
      • Experience with Data driven business/process optimization.
    • Ability to connect technology with process.
      • Evaluate, analyze, document business flows, and communicate system requirements. 
      • Align IT and Operations with business goals (this includes using automation tools to deploy apps, monitor performance, measure productivity, and other processes. 
    • Resourceful and resilient:
      • The ability to work through challenges. 
    • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
    • Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • MBA or Six Sigma certifications. 
    • BPM related certificate (Senior Level) and related experience.

    Location:

    Preferably Austin, MN. We are open to a remote work arrangement within a commutable distance of Austin, MN (for example Minneapolis, MN or Chicago, IL.) This role will require semi-regular travel to our headquarters in Austin, MN.
