    JOB SUMMARY: The director for campus life is a multifaceted position overseeing Residential Life, Student Life, Student Wellness, and the NDSCS Police Department. The director will focus on enhancing the student experience and fostering a safe, vibrant and inclusive college community. This position requires a transformative, student-centered leader capable of managing change and building collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. This position reports to and assists the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs (AVPSA) in the development and implementation of strategies and initiatives.

    SALARY: $95,000 - $102,000 commensurate with education and experience

    Required Competencies

    • Bachelor’s degree in student development, education, higher education administration, or other relevant discipline.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of full-time professional experience in an educational setting or leadership role in a related field.
    • Strong skills in setting a vision, strategic planning, delegating tasks, and inspiring others to work toward common goals.
    • Exceptional judgment, integrity, and professionalism.
    • Excellent active listening and verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships and leverage resources to achieve common objectives.
    • Must be approachable, empathetic, and capable of resolving conflict.
    • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute small and large events and programs. This includes budget management, logistics coordination, and attention to detail to ensure effective outcomes.
    • Ability to navigate problems and take initiative to identify strategic solutions.
    • Knowledge of student development theories and practices to support the personal development and growth of students.
    • Ability to navigate emergency/crisis situations calmly and effectively.
    • Appreciation and understanding of various forms of diversity. Willingness and ability to respect and consider the perspectives and experiences of individuals from different backgrounds.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in student development, education, higher education administration, or other relevant discipline.
    • Experience in student affairs, student development, education, or residential life.
    • Three or more years of supervisory experience.
