Position Overview

Position Details
A. Position Support
Meets with the Pastor weekly
Participates in weekly parish staff meeting
Meets with FOCUS Missionary team leader weekly
Meets with Campus Ministry Committee monthly
B. Position Responsibilities
1. Create a rich environment for the growth of faith in young adults attending UW Stevens Point and area Technical Colleges.
2. Along with pastor and other parish ministers provide personal pastoral care to students in need, making referrals to other professionals as appropriate.
3. Direct Point Catholic parish ministries including welcoming activities, bi-weekly student suppers, a fall off campus retreat, a spring Busy Student Retreat, spring break service trips and end of year picnic.
4. Supervise the FOCUS Team as they lead outreach events, bible studies and discipleship groups, coordinating parish events with theirs.
5. Support the Student Leadership Team as it develops social events, service opportunities, student liturgies, prayer experiences, and fund raising.
6. Participate in university programming to engage incoming students during summer orientation and introductory activities.
7. Support the officers of the UW recognized Student Organization named “Point Catholic” in forming its budget and securing granted funds.
8. Participate in the parish OCIA program when there are student candidates.
9. Facilitate students becoming involved in parish life, especially helping with the Faith Formation program.
10. Participate regularly at Mass, especially the 6:00pm Sunday and the 8:00pm Wednesday evening student Masses.
11. Establish relationships with key university personnel, promoting Point Catholic on Campus.
12. Network with other campus ministries, with the diocese, and with the larger Church.
13. Develop and administer an annual budget.
14. Maintain a database of student contact information and involvement.
C. Requirements
1. A living faith in Jesus Christ and the ability to share that faith with others.
2. A practicing Catholic
3. A college level understanding of the Catholic faith.
4. At least two years of experience in Campus Ministry.
5. A Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Religious Studies or other appropriate field.
6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
7. Proficiency in the use of technology for communicating.
8. Work well as part of a team.
9. Able to engage people of all ages and backgrounds with compassion.
10. Able to manage a very variable work schedule that will include evenings and weekends while keeping close to 40 hours a week.
