Capacity Planner plans, measures, and monitors operating limits and capacities of an organization. Forecasts and plans capacity requirements to ensure alignment with department or unit and determine variance from production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planner identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders like engineering, sales, and marketing to understand and develop current and forecasted plans. Additionally, Capacity Planner utilizes manufacturing data and reports to drive key insights into efficiency, production rate, and other performance metrics. Produces reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas needing improvement. Recommends process and equipment improvements to optimize production capabilities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Capacity Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Sr. Analyst Transportation Insight & Capacity Planning

  • Overview:
    The Senior Analyst, Transportation Insights is responsible for creating and analyzing End to End Transportation Data within North America (NA) geo including shipping costs, and forecasting. This role is essential to ensure that North America Transportation leverages analytics to optimize marketplace service and efficiency and supports the Digital First Supply Chain strategy. The Strategy Analyst partners closely with other NA Trade & Transportation (T&T) teams to provide visibility to key operational metrics, supports sourcing events and works closely with T&T capability development organization and cross-functional peers to ensure new capabilities align to core values.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Drive analysis of financial and operational performance data (e.g. modeling, predictive analytics) to identify key insights and opportunities to improve the end-to-end transportation network (e.g. carrier strategy, mode allocation, port mixture, transportation flows, etc.)
    • Develop detailed annual and 3-year freight spend forecasting and provide as input to NA Finance team
    • Support capability development, analysis and implementation tracking to ensure benefits are robust and mutually exclusive across business segments
    • Provide detailed volume/spend analytics to support LSP team during recurring sourcing events and recommend vendor selection/allocation
    • Develop and maintain centralized Transportation-related data consumption and reporting layers
    • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic top-to-top discussions with both key internal and external partners (e.g strategic customers, carriers/vendors, and internal leadership)

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
    • 5 years of progressive analytics experience in the field of operations and logistics
    • 3 years of experience with Inbound or Outbound Transportation
    • 5 years of experience with SQL
    • 4 years experience in Tableau required
    • Descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics experience with complex, unrefined data using a variety of analytical and statistical toolsets, examples include SQL, Python, Alteryx, R, or other data manipulation/mining tools
    • Ability to conduct root cause analysis to pinpoint variances, and recommend solutions to avoid variances in the future
    • Forecasting experience using a variety of methods to inform future-state planning
    • Logistics financial acumen and can manage competing priorities with limited supervision
    • Demonstrated experience simplifying complex analytics to explain difficult concepts and garner cross-functional buy in
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 3 years of experience in Python preferred
    • Strong proficiency in Agile methodologies with a track record of successfully delivering projects in iterative and collaborative environments
    • Consulting or Finance experience
    • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and ambiguous environment
