Capacity Planning Supervisor leads a capacity planning team to plan and monitor an organization's operating limits and capacities. Forecasts and plans capacity requirements to align with production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planning Supervisor identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to understand future plans and develop responsive capacity forecasting. Additionally, Capacity Planning Supervisor utilizes production metrics and manufacturing research to develop insights on processes or equipment and recommend improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Capacity Planning Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Capacity Planning Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Planning Director is seeking a responsible individual to manage and perform routine and complex technical and professional work in the Planning Division. This includes current and/or long range planning and transportation projects and programs related to the development and implementation of land use, environmental and transportation plans and policies. Assists the Director of Planning and Community Development in providing technical and staff assistance to the Planning Board and other land use Boards, City Council and the public.
This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position. $$1,507.20 to $2,182.80 per week. Position is open until filled.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Considerable knowledge of principles, and practices of city planning; knowledge of state laws and city ordinances pertaining to city and regional planning, general transportation, zoning, building regulations, and urban redevelopment; architecture, and graphic presentation as applied to planning; the ability to prepare comprehensive research studies and technical reports; the ability to maintain an effective working relationship with officials and the public; ability to speak and write effectively including public presentations.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications include Bachelor’s Degree in rural or urban planning, or related field, though a Master’s is preferred. A minimum of four years experience in community or regional planning, OR any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Certification by the American Institute for Certified Planners, or equivalent professional certification is preferred. Valid motor vehicle operator license.
