Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support and ensuring smooth operations in our medical office. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to multitask will be essential in delivering exceptional patient service.

Duties:

- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner

- Register new patients and update existing patient information in the electronic medical records system

- Schedule appointments for patients in Athena EMR

- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members

- Verify insurance information and assist patients with insurance-related questions

- Collect co-pays and payments from patients

- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

- Assist with medical record management, including scanning, and organizing documents

- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed

- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure efficient patient flow

Skills:

- Proven experience in administrative or medical administrative support roles

- Proficiency in medical scheduling systems (e.g., Athena, meditech)

- Strong knowledge of phone systems and ability to handle multiple phone lines

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

- Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective patient service

- Familiarity with medical terminology
